Sue hosted a lovely evening on Thursday and everyone agreed that the summer’s read – The Son – was enthralling, even if most of us haven’t quite finished it yet. We’ll get there. Between first days at school, first days on LPCs and first days as dog owners, dissertation marathons and other fun, it has been an eventful month!

So, Katie has chosen us a shorter and very well-reviewed, Swedish book: A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman.

Only one copy in the whole Bedfordshire library service, so it looks like we’ll all have to pursue alternative routes to get a copy.  Simon Mayo’s book club has also picked it:  http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/5FKy3tkFdgvFWJ29brTSbNw/a-man-called-ove-by-fredrik-backman

  1. Availability update: The paperback isn’t available until February and this isn’t available for UK-based Nook customers. But there are lots of discounts around for the hardbacks and it’s only £1.99 in the Kobo store.
